Something to live by

We all try to find something to live our life by. Whether it is our morals, or some code of ethics, or a relationship, maybe even a certain style of life is our ultimate goal and therefore our driving force.

Recently I have really been striving to live by this one thing that holds hundreds of questions within the statement:

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness" (Matt 6:33)

....WHAT?....
How can we seek a Kingdom that we can't see or some character trait of a man who lived 2000+ years ago? Well in Philippians we see that Paul writes "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication" (if your like me you have no clue what supplication means so i'll tell you: Asking for something humbly)
So a good start would be to:
    1) Be in Prayer about everything
Also, we know that we need to love. Obviously because the Greatest command is LOVE GOD LOVE OTHERS, but also because Jesus did so much for us how could we not. So in order to love Jesus he says this in John 14, "If you love me, obey my commandments," Sounds pretty much spelled out there
    2) Obey Jesus' Commands
Also when we remain in constant prayer Paul prays for us that we may KNOW the PEACE OF CHRIST which surpasses ALL UNDERSTANDING, and that it will guard our hearts. Let the peace of Christ, the peace in his presence be that thing that keeps us pure and draws us closer to him! In Romans it says if you live according to the flesh your mind will be set on the flesh therefore live by the spirit.
    3) Set Your Mind on the Spirit
You are slaves to the one whom you obey. If we are obeying sin and sinning then we have become slaves to sin, giving into that lifestyle; BUT we do not have to be slaves to sin we have been set free. Now we can be bondslaves to righteousness.
    4) Bind Yourself to Righteousness

Corporately we win and wage war

The power of anything corporate usually seems to be more effective that doing things on your own. The saying, "two heads are better than one" is used all the time when thinking corporately. This holds true when you stop to think about it...How many times have you been doing something and then you get some help and it was so much easier, examples: Homework...Installing a light bulb...moving...planting a tree. These are examples but something that is not thought of much but that which works incredibly together like a perfect symphony is Corporate Prayer and Worship.

Coming together to worship and lift up the name of Jesus! There is nothing more beautiful than the sound of those who are in love singing to the one that they love! Jesus tells us in the word, "Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them" Matt 18:20. This is so true its like the Holy Spirit becomes so evident in the context of Corporate worship. And also Corporate Prayer, coming together to lift requests up to the Lord! Jesus hears our cry to him, REV. 8:4 "The smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of God's holy people, ascended up to God from the altar where the angel had poured them out." The Lord hears our prayer so lets gather together in our communities and seek first the Lord worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth, TOGETHER and pray for our communities and the hurting world! Praise the Lord for the BODY!

The beauty of His Majesty

have you ever stopped to think about how beautiful little things around you can be. Like the taste of coffee or a sunrise, pretty much anywhere, or the flowers of a cherry blossom tree when they begin to bloom, or any tree. Weather really makes people really happy and really mad. Beauty comes from the creator, but we have brought in sin, sin is what brought all of the thorns and things that choke out the beauty of this world.

"Weeping may tarry for the night, but JOY comes with the MORNING" Psalm 30:5

LETS HEAR IT:

What is the most beautiful sunrise you have seen???

How did I do that?

What is truth...is truth something that you can hold on to? Is it something concrete or real? Maybe for you truth is a context or situation in which you can always return to when everything else seems to fail. According to my Mac's dictionary truth is fact and fact is something that is indisputably the case. So the saying "the truth hurts" really hold itself to be true...or do we make it more that way that it need be.  Think about this when someone loses a parent there is fact that they are no longer there, that fact is a truth and this truth hurts...ok it holds up here. Another scenario...you get a new iPhone 4 and this phone was free due to the lack of responsibility of At&t and some kind of contract void, regardless you have a new free iPhone. You have fact because you can hold it see and touch it. You know this is a truth and this truth makes you happy. So do things that are tangibly true make us more happy? Or is it maybe that society is trying to convince us that material tangible things make us happier. None-the-less, we seem to be happier and accept things as truth when we have physical evidence to support that truth. What is physical evidence did not exist...what if someone told you that oxygen was not real...could you prove them wrong? Sure maybe through a series of deep scientific tests. OK so what if someone told you God was not real. Or that he was real. Could you prove them wrong...or right. If this question was the case what would you do to support your answer what kind of fact could you have. Or is it possible that everything around you is one fact that leads to another. If someone asks you if God is real, a valid response could also be is oxygen real, and if oxygen is real do we know that it really is what we breathe in to live. If this is the case the fact that it regulates through our body to keep us alive when we are not even conscience of it has to be amazing. If it really does the when we cannot control it then how is it controlled? OK by your brain. Your brain is sending messages to deliver that oxygen throughout your bloodstream, GREAT I know now that I am alive because of my brain. What is a brain, why does it function like that, how did it become that why, what to I need oxygen to help keep my brain alive when it is the very thing that is telling my brain to be alive, and when did my brain get so smart that even when I was a little kid it worked the same way??? No one taught my brain to work...or did they? Did someone possibly design the brain so that humans could live not having to forcibly perform every bodily function? Why? How do I know this is true? How do I know I wasn't just made that way? You were. Every single operating part of you was made to perfection. Don't Forget, you weren't made to.
