We all try to find something to live our life by. Whether it is our morals, or some code of ethics, or a relationship, maybe even a certain style of life is our ultimate goal and therefore our driving force.
Recently I have really been striving to live by this one thing that holds hundreds of questions within the statement:
"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness" (Matt 6:33)
....WHAT?....
How can we seek a Kingdom that we can't see or some character trait of a man who lived 2000+ years ago? Well in Philippians we see that Paul writes "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication" (if your like me you have no clue what supplication means so i'll tell you: Asking for something humbly)
So a good start would be to:
1) Be in Prayer about everything
Also, we know that we need to love. Obviously because the Greatest command is LOVE GOD LOVE OTHERS, but also because Jesus did so much for us how could we not. So in order to love Jesus he says this in John 14, "If you love me, obey my commandments," Sounds pretty much spelled out there
2) Obey Jesus' Commands
Also when we remain in constant prayer Paul prays for us that we may KNOW the PEACE OF CHRIST which surpasses ALL UNDERSTANDING, and that it will guard our hearts. Let the peace of Christ, the peace in his presence be that thing that keeps us pure and draws us closer to him! In Romans it says if you live according to the flesh your mind will be set on the flesh therefore live by the spirit.
3) Set Your Mind on the Spirit
You are slaves to the one whom you obey. If we are obeying sin and sinning then we have become slaves to sin, giving into that lifestyle; BUT we do not have to be slaves to sin we have been set free. Now we can be bondslaves to righteousness.
4) Bind Yourself to Righteousness
